Google Workspace Backup for Nonprofit Organizations and Small Businesses
Did you know that Google doesn't back up your data? Even though Google's data storage is incredibly durable, you may still be vulnerable to accidental deletion, malicious action, or ransomware attack.
Google puts your deleted files on a timer
When you delete a file from your google drive, it's called a 'soft delete'. The file goes in your trash, and you get 30 days before it's cleared out of the trash. After that, the file may still be recoverable by your Google Workspace administrator for up to 25 days.
When you have important data, you need a backup plan
The timeline is relatively long, so the risk is greatest for accidental deletion of data that is archival, or accessed infrequently. And ransomware attacks bypass this timeline completely by attempting to overwhelm Google's revision history log.
